Recap

Malet commenced their home programme with a visit from newly promoted Springhead Highway B to Malet School. Two divisions separated these two sides last season and the more experienced home side just edged the game winning 4-2. Paul Burton opened the scoring for Malet from the penalty spot after Steve Harrod had been fouled. The visitors soon came back to level things up at 1-1 and seemed to have the ascendency but it was the home side who regained the lead when Adam Bolder finished some fine play by Liam Power. It became 3-1 in the second half when Phil Heys finished a fine team goal and this was followed by his brother Mike also getting onto the score sheet. Springhead kept going and were rewarded with a second goal but Malet saw out the game.
