Botanic Fire go into their home game against Newland knowing a win will see them go top of the table. Botanic beat South Cave 6-1 in their last game whilst Newland drew 4-4 at Hedon Rangers. The sides are amongst the highest scorers in the Division so this should be a good open game.

GILBERDYKE PHOENIX   V  HULL ATHLETIC  INGS VIEW PLAYING FIELD, GILBERDYKE- REFEREE MATT MITCHELL

It is second versus third as Gilberdyke Phoenix host Hull Athletic in a vital game for both sides as they look to keep on the heels of leaders Brigg Town. The home side won 4-1 at Malt Shovel Selby two weeks ago, Hull Athletic who are still unbeaten this season drew 2-2 at home to AFC North last time out. This should be a closely contested game.

GREAT DRIFFIELD B  V  AFC WILLERBY A   CEMETERY LANE, DRIFFIELD- REFEREE NEIL WOODCOCK

Two of the bottom three meet at Cemetery Lane as Great Driffield B entertain AFC Willerby A. The hosts got their first win of the season when they beat Howden 4-3 a fortnight ago, on the same afternoon Willerby were being hammered 8-0 by leaders Brigg Town and they will want to respond to that heavy loss and they are more than capable of doing so.

The home side won 5-3 at North Ferriby Sporting which saw them end the day joint top of the table whilst St Peters got their first win of the campaign after beating Blackburn Leisure B 7-3 at home. Third placed AAK S+S take on neighbours Tickton who are one place and one point above them at Bishop Burton College. AAK last played a month ago when they were beaten 4-1 by Leven. The visitors last game was a 3-2 win against Spartans. Both sides need a win to keep the pressure on leaders Leven.

Goat were hammered 9-2 against Leven last time out whilst Bosun last played at the beginning of October when they beat Tickton 4-1. This should be a good open game between two of the divisions top scorers.

SPARTANS  V  MOLESCROFT RANGERS B    HULL UNIVERSITY- REFEREE CAN UGAN

Two of the bottom three meet at Hull University as Spartans take on Molescroft Rangers B. Spartans were beaten by the odd goal in five against Tickton and the visitors beat Swanland B 4-3 two weeks back. Both sides have been very inconsistent so far this season so this is game which is really difficult to predict an outcome.

SWANLAND B  V  LEVEN    BLOSSOM CLOSE, WEST LEYS ROAD, SWANLAND -REFEREE GARY HALLETT

Swanland B who have found the going very difficult after doing the double last season and find themselves bottom of the table have a visit from the table topping Leven side. They drew 3-3 at Little Weighton in their last game for Northern they have only played twice this season the last one being also against Little Weighton who they beat 6-3. This is a contest between two of the best defences in the division so a goal fest isn`t on the cards.

OVER 50`S DIVISION EAST

HEDON RANGERS  V  HORNSEA TOWN    SOUTH HOLDERNESS COLLEGE, PRESTON- REFEREE  LEE NOBLE

Hedon Rangers and Hornsea Town meet for the second time in a month when they go head to head at South Holderness. The previous encounter at Hornsea in a league and cup double header saw Hedon win an eleven goal thriller 7-4 and no doubt the return fixture will be another open affair.

Two more of the joint leaders meet at Addison Road as Preston United host Hodgsons. Preston won 5-2 at Bridlington Town Rovers in their last game whilst Hodgsons let a two lead slip before going down 6-2 at home to Northern Wanderers A. EASINGTON UNITED   V  PRIORY    LOW FARM, BECK STREET, EASINGTON- REFEREE GED STEAD

In another re-arranged game Botanic Fire host South Cave at Hull University looking to make it two wins from two games. They haven`t played for a month since winning 3-0 at Hedon Rangers. South Cave have had a difficult start to life back in Division Two and they also played Hedon in their last game going down 4-2 so the form book would suggest a home win.

DIVISION THREE

AFC WILLERBY A   V  BRIGG TOWN    WOLFRETON COLLEGE, WELL LANE, WILLERBY- REFEREE PHIL GRIFFIN

Top of the table Brigg Town travel over to Wolfreton College to take on AFC Willerby A hoping to maintain their 100% record. The hosts were beaten 6-2 at Gilberdyke Phoenix two weeks ago whilst Brigg beat Great Driffield B 4-0 to make it three wins in a row at the start of the season.

Hull Athletic were held to a 1-1 draw by Howden in their last game, for the visitors this is their first game for a month since going down 3-1 at AFC Willerby A a month ago. Howden buoyed by getting their first point of the season after drawing 1-1 at Hull Athletic will be confident of getting their first win when they entertain Great Driffield B on Sunday. Gilberdyke were 6-2 winners against AFC Willerby A a fortnight ago and will be favourites to take the points but the home side will hope to have a few of their regulars back after conceding their last game.

DIVISION FOUR

BRANDESBURTON  V  DRUM    CATWICK LANE, BRANDESBURTON- MALCOLM HIGH

Two sides who got their first win of the season last time out meet at Catwick Lane as Brandesburton play Drum. Brandesburton won a nine goal thriller against Hessle Rangers last weekend whilst Drum beat St Peters two weeks back. A win for either side would see them move into the top four in the table and make it back to back three points.

MOLESCROFT RANGERS A   V  HESSLE RANGERS   HULL UNIVERSITY, INGLEMIRE LANE- REFEREE ANDREW MCNAUGHT

It is top versus joint bottom when Molescroft Rangers A entertain Hessle Rangers at Hull University. The home side beat North Ferriby Sporting 5-2 in their last game for Hessle they were beaten 5-4 by Brandesburton last Sunday they have no problem scoring but have a defence which is guilty of giving their opposition too many chances and with Molescroft the top scorers in the division they have a tough afternoon in prospect.

NORTH FERRIBY SPORTING   V  MW MAGPIES    SOUTH HUNSLEY SCHOOL, MELTON- REFEREE NEIL HAMBLY

Both North Ferriby Sporting and Market Weighton Magpies lost last time out as they lost their 100% records and they will want to get back to winning ways when they meet at South Hunsley. St Peters who are still looking for their first win of the campaign take on a Blackburn Leisure B at Haltemprice Sports Centre. St Peters were beaten 2-0 at Costello against Drum and Blackies will be hoping for back to back wins after beating MW Magpies 3-2 two weeks back. This should be a good open encounter between two inconsistent outfits.

DIVISION FIVE

GIPSYVILLE BOSUN   V   AAK S+S   MATCH POSTPONED- REARRANGED FOR 8TH NOVEMBER

LEVEN  V  GOAT FC    SPORTS HALL & PLAYING FIELD, LEVEN- REFEREE GED STEAD

Goat FC make the short trip down the A165 down to Leven in a game between two of the four teams who are sitting joint top of the division. Leven beat AAK S+S at Bishop Burton 4-1 whilst Goat went down to their first defeat of the season when they were beaten 5-1 at home by Molescroft Rangers B a fortnight ago. The sides are amongst the top scorers so this one will not be without goalmouth action.

MOLESCROFT RANGERS B   V  SWANLAND B    BISHOP BURTON COLLEGE-REFEREE TBC

Both Molescroft Rangers B and Swanland B were promoted from Division Six last season but have found the higher division a much harder proposition. The home side got their first win of the season when they won 5-1 at Goat FC in their last game. Swanland still seek that first win and currently sit bottom of the table after losing 7-3 against Spartans but they will recall that they won both encounters last season 2-1 and another close game is on the cards.

TICKTON  V  SPARTANS    LONGCROFT SCHOOL, BEVERLEY- REFEREE GEORG DELA SAGA

Tickton will be looking to bounce back from losing 4-1 against Gipsyville Bosun when they welcome Spartans to Longcroft School. Spartans had their first three points of the season last time out after an impressive 7-3 win at Swanland B. The two sides are much better going forward than defending so an open encounter is likely.

DIVISION SIX

BILTON  V  NORTHERN WANDERERS B   PLAYING FIELD, MAIN ROAD, BILTON- REFEREE LEE NOBLE

Bilton put their 100% record on the line when they host Northern Wanderers B at Main Road knowing that if they win they will end the day top of the table. Northern also have a 100% record having played just the once so far this season a 6-3 win against Little Weighton a month ago. Bilton also beat Little Weighton last time out a bit more comfortably by 11-1.

PRIORY   V  AFC WILLERBY B   PRIDE PARK, FIRST LANE, ANLABY- REFEREE GARY HALLETT

There is a league and Preliminary Round Cup tie double header at Pride Park as Priory take on AFC Willerby B. Priory have lost both of their games so far, the most recent being 5-0 against East Hull Sporting and currently sit bottom of the table. The visitors drew 4-4 at Easington United their only game so far this season. So three points and a place in the Quarter Finals of the cup are the reward for a win for either side.

OVER 50`S DIVISION WEST

SWANLAND   V  LOUTH   WEST LEYS ROAD, SWANLAND PLAYING FIELD, WEST LEYS ROAD, SWANLAND- REFEREE TBC

Swanland entertain Louth at West Leys Road knowing a win would see them end the day six points clear at the top of the table. Swanland beat Blackburn Leisure 2-0 in the only game played so far in this Division. Louth make their seasonal debut and look to retain their unbeaten record against Swanland after tow wins and a draw in their three previous meetings.

11th October 2026 Preview

PREMIER DIVISION

BLACKBURN LEISURE A     V  LIV    SKILLINGS LANE, BROUGH- REFEREE  NEIL HAMBLY

Two sides who have only played one game so far this season meet at Brough as Blackburn Leisure A take on Liv. Blackies were beaten 6-1 by Waterloo a month ago when several of their regulars were missing. Liv drew 2-2 with Swanland A the same day. SWANLAND A   V  SYMONDS & GREENHAM   SOUTH HUNSLEY SCHOOL, MELTON- REFEREE  ELLIS DOUGLAS

Swanland A welcome Symonds and Greenham to South Hunsley looking for their first win of the season. The visitors have won both of their games so far and sit top of the table, they came back from 2-0 down to beat Reckitts 3-2 in their most recent game. Hedon Rangers will be looking to make it back to back wins when they entertain Newland at South Holderness. Swanland B who drew 3-3 against Tickton a fortnight back have a home game with Spartans to look forward to on Sunday. The visitors were on the wrong end of a 10-3 hammering at home to Goat FC and will need to improve significantly to get anything from the Swanland game.

When these two sides meet you are guaranteed goals as their three matches last season produced no less than 26 goals. Northern won two of the games including a 6-1 win in this corresponding fixture.

PRESTON UNITED   V  GREAT DRIFFIELD A    ADDISON ROAD, PRESTON- REFEREE GED STEAD

Another side playing their first game of the season are Preston United who face Great Driffield A at Addison Road. Driffield beat Northern Wanderers A 4-2 in a League/Cup Preliminary Round game in their opening fixture. Last season both sides won their home game Preston winning 2-0 late in the season and another close encounter is on the cards.

SOUTH CAVE   V  HEDON RANGERS    SOUTH HUNSLEY SCHOOL, MELTON- REFEREE KEVIN PICK

Two sides who lost their opening fixtures without scoring meet at South Hunsley as South Cave take on Hedon Rangers. South Cave went down 5-0 at Hodgsons whilst Hedon were beaten 3-0 at home by Botanic Fire so both of them will be looking to get back on track on Sunday. Bilton will be looking to make it back to back wins when they face Little Weighton at home. The hosts beat Barham 3-1 in their opening game whilst Little Weighton were involved in a nine goal thriller going down 6-3 against Northern Wanderers B. There should be plenty of goalmouth action in this one which is a hard one to call.

Easington United welcome AFC Willerby B to Low Farm hoping to avoid back to back home defeats after losing 3-2 against newcomers East Hull Sporting in their first game. AFC Willerby A will be looking to bounce back from their 3-2 home defeat against Hull Athletic last Sunday when they take on AFC North at Wolfreton College. The visitors started their season with a comprehensive 8-0 win against Great Driffield B two weeks ago and will be confident of making it two in a row. For the hosts they will need to improve on their first outing if they are to get anything from the game.

GREAT DRIFFIELD B  V  GILBERDYKE PHOENIX     CEMETERY LANE, DRIFFIELD- REFEREE  DAVE WEDGE

Great Driffield B welcome Gilberdyke Phoenix to Cemetery Lane hoping to put their 8-0 defeat at AFC North in their first game behind them. In their first home game of the season Howden entertain Brigg Town wanting to improve on their 4-1 defeat at Malt Shovel Selby on the opening day. Malt Shovel beat local rivals Howden 4-1 two weeks back whilst Hull Athletic won 3-2 at AFC Willerby A last weekend despite playing the last twenty minutes with ten men. Two sides who had contrasting fortunes in round 1 meet at Catwick Lane as Brandesburton entertain Molescroft Rangers A. Both sides need the win either to get back on track or continue a successful start to the season.

MW MAGPIES  V  DRUM    MARKET WEIGHTON SCHOOL, SPRING ROAD, MARKET WEIGHTON- REFEREE STEVE BARRATT

Market Weighton Magpies welcome Drum to Market Weighton School looking to build on their opening game win against Hessle Rangers when they came back from 3-1 down in the second half to win 5-3. Drum let a two goal lead slip against Blackburn Leisure B and had to settle for a point after a 2-2 draw.

NORTH FERRIBY SPORTING  V  BLACKBURN LEISURE B   SOUTH HUNSLEY SCHOOL, MELTON- REFEREE  MITCHELL WALLER

There is a local derby at South Hunsley as neighbours North Ferriby Sporting and Blackburn Leisure go head to head. Ferriby got off to a great start with a 5-1 win at Brandesburton whilst Blackies rescued a point after coming back from 2-0 down against Drum. Last season neither game got played but hopefully it will go ahead on Sunday.

ST PETERS   V  HESSLE RANGERS   HALTEMPRICE SPORTS CENTRE, GORTON ROAD- REFEREE  ANDREW MCNAUGHT

The game between St Peters and Hessle Rangers at Gorton Road is a proper derby as the two sides share the facilities at Haltemprice. Both sides lost after leading in their opening game Hessle Rangers were 3-1 up against MW Magpies but went down 5-3 and St Peters were beaten 4-1 by Molescroft Rangers A. So a keen game is on the cards as neither side will want to lose their fist two games.

Leven who were beaten 3-1 by Tickton on their return to the Veterans League after over a decade away take on Gipsyville Bosun. The visitors won a high scoring affair against Molescroft Rangers B 5-4. Another local derby takes place at Bishop Burton College as co-tenants Molescroft Rangers B and AAK S+S meet for the local bragging rights. Molescroft were beaten in a nine goal thriller at Costello losing 5-4 against Gipsyville Bosun whilst AAK had a convincing 6-0 win at home against Spartans. Spartans will be wanting their 6-0 loss at AAK S+S two weeks ago behind them when they entertain Goat FC at Hull University on Sunday. Tickton host Swanland B at Beverley Longcroft hoping for a second successive three points after their 3-1 win at Leven a fortnight back. BLACKBURN LEISURE   V  SWANLAND    SKILLINGS LANE, BROUGH- REFEREE  CAN UGAN

The first game of the Over 50`s season sees old rivals Blackburn Leisure and Swanland meet at Brough. Last season in the corresponding game it was Blackies who prevailed winning 3-1 but games between these two sides are always wide open affairs with the result always in doubt until the final whistle and it is likely to be the same at the weekend.

Will a change of ground be a good move for Northern Wanderers B when they entertain Little Weighton at their new home at Malet Lambert School. RECKITTS  V  BRIDLINGTON TOWN ROVERS   SIRIUS ACADEMY, PICKERING ROAD, HULL – REFEREE PAUL BROOKS MATCH POSTPONED- VETERANS LEAGUE COMMITTEE WILL DECIDE WHAT WILL HAPPEN.

Reckitts who won the  Champion of Champions Trophy back in 2019 have the chance to be the first team to win it twice when they face Bridlington Town Rovers at Sirius Academy on Sunday.

Both sides reached the final after convincing semi final away wins last Sunday, Reckitts won 5-2 at Bottesford Town whilst Brid won 6-1 at AFC North.

Reckitts will go into the game as favourites but I am certain that Brid will be very competitive and this will not be a walkover.
