27th September 2026 Preview

The Premier Division along with Divisions 2 and 6 take centre stage this weekend along with a re-arranged Division 3 game.

PREMIER DIVISION

BOTTESFORD TOWN   V  SWANLAND   BOTTESFORD TOWN FC, ONTARIO ROAD, BOTTESFORD- REFEREE NICK HOPPER

Bottesford Town start their debut season in the top division with a home game against fellow promotion side Swanland. The visitors drew 2-2 with Liv in their opening game. Last season Bottesford won this corresponding fixture 6-2, I think it will be a closer game this time around.

LIV   V  WATERLOO     MATCH POSTPONED- WATERLOO USING WILDCARD

SYMONDS AND GREENHAM  V  RECKITTS    SIR HENRY COOPER PARK, ORCHARD PARK- REFEREE ELLIS DOUGLAS

Symonds and Greenham welcome Champions Reckitts to Sir Henry Cooper Park with the visitors playing their first game of the season after their opening fixture was postponed. The hosts beat Westella Willerby 3-2 a fortnight ago and will want to keep their good start going but know that they a formidable challenge to get anything from the game.

WESTELLA WILLERBY  V  BLACKBURN LEISURE A   MATCH POSTPONED- BLACKBURN LEISURE USING WILDCARD

DIVISION TWO

NEWLAND   V  HODGSONS    ST MARY`S COLLEGE, CRANBROOK AVENUE- REFEREE JEFF SMITH KICK OFF 3PM

Newland begin their season with a home game against newcomers Hodgsons at St Mary`s College. The visitors started with a 5-0 home win over South Cave a fortnight back and look to be a good side and Newland will have it all on to start their campaign with a win.

NORTHERN WANDERERS A   V  BRIDLINGTON TOWN ROVERS    MALET LAMBERT SCHOOL, JAMES RECKITT AVENUE- REFEREE PAUL BROOKS MATCH POSTPONED- BRID TOWN ROVERS HAVE CONCEDED THE GAME

After losing their first game at Great Driffield 4-2 Northern Wanderers A will be looking to bounce back when they host Bridlington Town Rovers at Malet Lambert School. Brid will be playing their first game of the season after winning the Division Three title last season. When these two sides meet you are guaranteed goals as their three matches last season produced no less than 26 goals. Northern won two of the games including a 6-1 win in this corresponding fixture.

PRESTON UNITED   V  GREAT DRIFFIELD A    ADDISON ROAD, PRESTON- REFEREE GED STEAD

Another side playing their first game of the season are Preston United who face Great Driffield A at Addison Road. Driffield beat Northern Wanderers A 4-2 in a League/Cup Preliminary Round game in their opening fixture. Last season both sides won their home game Preston winning 2-0 late in the season and another close encounter is on the cards.

SOUTH CAVE   V  HEDON RANGERS    SOUTH HUNSLEY SCHOOL, MELTON- REFEREE KEVIN PICK

Two sides who lost their opening fixtures without scoring meet at South Hunsley as South Cave take on Hedon Rangers. South Cave went down 5-0 at Hodgsons whilst Hedon were beaten 3-0 at home by Botanic Fire so both of them will be looking to get back on track on Sunday. A difficult one to predict but hopefully it won`t end in a 0-0 draw.

DIVISION THREE

GILBERDYKE PHOENIX   V  BRIGG TOWN    INGS VIEW PLAYING FIELD, GILBERDYKE- REFEREE PAUL WARREN

Originally scheduled for the opening weekend Gilberdyke Phoenix and Brigg Town will renew their rivalry this weekend. Both sides were promoted from Division Four last season and they both started with wins last Sunday. Phoenix won 6-0 at Great Driffield B whilst Brigg won 6-1 at Howden. Their games last season were both won by the home side with Phoenix beating  Brigg 3-0 towards the end of the season.

DIVISION SIX

BILTON   V  LITTLE WEIGHTON     BILTON PLAYING FIELD, MAIN ROAD, BILTON- REFEREE GEORG DELA SAGA

Bilton will be looking to make it back to back wins when they face Little Weighton at home. The hosts beat Barham 3-1 in their opening game whilst Little Weighton were involved in a nine goal thriller going down 6-3 against Northern Wanderers B. There should be plenty of goalmouth action in this one which is a hard one to call.

EASINGTON UNITED  V  AFC WILLERBY B   LOW FARM, BECK STREET, EASINGTON- REFEREE  PETE COLLINS

Easington United welcome AFC Willerby B to Low Farm hoping to avoid back to back home defeats after losing 3-2 against newcomers East Hull Sporting in their first game. For Willerby this is their first outing of the season and they will be looking to get off to a winning start. The sides met towards the end of last season at this venue with Easington winning 4-2 can they repeat that win this time around.

EAST HULL SPORTING  V  PRIORY   LONGHILL PLAYING FIELD ,FROME ROAD- REFEREE GARY HALLETT  KICK OFF 1.30PM GAME NOW BEING PLAYED AT ANDREW MARVELL SCHOOL, BARHAM ROAD.

East Hull Sporting will be looking to continue their winning start to the season when they take on Priory at Frome Road. They won 3-2 at Easington United in their first ever Veterans League game. For Priory they were beaten 5-2 at home to Hornsea Town and will want to avoid back to back losses at the start of the season.

HORNSEA TOWN  V  BARHAM   ATWICK ROAD, HORNSEA- REFEREE MALCOLM HIGH

After winning their opening game at Priory 5-2 Hornsea Town will look to win successive games for the first time in many a season when they host Barham on Sunday. The visitors went down 3-1 at home to neighbours Bilton in their first game and will want to bounce back but face a difficult task against the newly assembled Hornsea side.
