ST PETERS  2  HEDON RANGERS A  1

St Peters entertained old rivals Hedon Rangers A at Gorton Road and as ever win these two sides meet a close game ensued. St Peters thought they had taken a first minute lead but the effort was ruled out for offside. After an even opening quarter the home side took the lead when Dave Robson out jumped every one as he headed home from a corner. Hedon having been thwarted earlier in the half by a great double save from Stuart Taylor in the St Peters goal missed a great chance on the stroke of half time and they went into the break 1-0 down. With twenty minutes left the home side doubled their lead when a good team move resulted in Darren Catchpole finishing well. Hedon responded almost immediately when Andy Hardy scored a fine individual goal and it was game on. Both sides had chances in the closing minutes Allan Tate hitting a post for St Peters and with virtually the last kick of the game Taylor tipped over a 20 yard effort which could have earned Hedon a point
