Recap

Just a single goal separated old rivals Hedon Rangers A and Kingburn Athletic when they met at South Holderness. The first half saw Kingburn have the majority of the play but they created few chances and Hedon looked dangerous on the counter but the score sheet was blank at half time. The second period saw a more even game in which Kingburn missed a glorious chance to take the lead and Hedon had a stone wall penalty turned down before the all important goal was scored by Steve Ratcliffe who showed good feet from 15 yards to bury the ball past the Hedon keeper with fifteen minutes remaining. The visitors had to defend resolutely to prevent Hedon`s neat build up play get them an equaliser but a lack of sharpness up front cost them any chance of rescuing a point as Kingburn maintained their winning start to the season
