SPRINGHEAD HIGHWAY B  0   LORD NELSON  2

In a six point game quickly re-arranged after being postponed last Sunday Springhead Highway B entertained title chasing Lord Nelson. On a difficult pitch and with a strong wind good play was at a premium as both sides struggled to build any momentum. The home side missing several regulars were causing an out of sorts Nelson outfit a few problems but it was the visitors who opened the scoring when Jamie Marshall headed home a perfectly delivered free kick on twenty minutes. Ten minutes Nelson had the ball in the net but it was ruled out for offside. However just before the half time break Nelson doubled their advantage when Steven Hunt slotted home after another decent cross to make it 2-0. The second half mirrored the first with both sides guilty of continually giving the ball away and whilst Springhead battled away they rarely looked like scoring, at the other end Nelson had chances but they were guilty of poor finishing or the Springhead keeper made a number of fine saves. The six points assured Nelson of the title as they made it back to back triumphs after winning Division Four last season.
