GREAT DRIFFIELD 3 ST PETERS 3
Great Driffield and St Peters produced a thriller at Cemetery Road which went all the way to a penalty shoot out which saw St Peters reach their first ever final. They will face Blackburn Leisure in two weeks time. The visitors who had not played for five weeks started well and went ahead through Jason Robson but the lead was short lived as Driffield soon equalised. A Driffield player on his 36th birthday suffered a dislocated knee, we wish him a speedy recovery. Driffield went into the lead but this time it was St Peters who levelled as Richard Dawson drilled home from fully 30 yards for a 2-2 half time score. Steve Collins put the visitors back in front when he reacted to a Mark Richardson shot parried by the Driffield keeper. The hosts came back and levelled when a long ball was attempted to be shepherded out by the keeper but he was robbed and the forward was left with the easy task of tapping the ball home. Both sides created and missed chances to get the winner and it ended 3-3. Stuart Taylor made up for his earlier error when he saved the second Driffield penalty to leave James Carew to score the winning penalty.
