Recap

Malet Vikings without a single point from their nine games entertained Appleby Frodingham who had the only 100% record in the Veterans League at Malet Lambert and produced the shock result of the season after their 5-3 win. Malet with possibly their strongest line up of the season were astonishingly 5-1 ahead at half time and fully deserved to be that far in front after a dominant performance against a shell shocked visiting outfit. They led 4-0 before Chris Fisher reduced the deficit only for Malet to restore their four goal lead straight from the kick off. In the second half Appleby started to get more into the game but they were only able to reduce the deficit by a couple of goals through a Paul Sykes penalty and Ryan Hibbard as Malet ended their long wait for that first win. This result opens up the title race and with all the three teams still to play each other at least once it could go to the wire.
