Recap

Brigg Town hosted Gilberdyke Phoenix and the game was similar to their early season encounter as Brigg dominated the game and created numerous chances but a resolute visitors rearguard and their keeper kept them frustrated until late on. Brigg opened the scoring on fifteen minutes when Ryan Oates smashed a twenty yard effort into the top corner. Gilberdyke kept their shape and levelled the scores five minutes before the break when Craig Hodgson turned well and shot home. Right on the stroke of  half time the visitors stunned the home side when Dan Smith lobbed the keeper from fully 30 yards to give Gilberdyke a 2-1 lead. Brigg started the second half well on top but they were still trailing when the game entered the final twenty minutes until Will Hartley scored twice in quick succession to put them 3-2 ahead as the Gilberdyke resistance finally ended. As the visitors pushed forward looking for an equaliser Jonathan Welch with his first goal for Brigg secured the points which sees them maintain their five point lead at the top of the table although their nearest rivals all have games in hand of them.
