Recap

Gilberdyke Phoenix welcomed Brigg Town to the Ings Playing Fields in their first home game of the season and they earned their second draw in succession despite being under severe pressure from the visitors. The home side took the lead against the run of play when Stuart Bell hit home a  fantastic free kick but Brigg were on level terms before half time through Barley . It was a similar story in the second half with Brigg totally on top but unable to score and then once more they fell behind this time to a 30 yard screamer from Lee Newbiggin. Any thoughts of a famous when were dashed five minutes later when Brigg equalised again this time through David Betts. For the remainder of the game Gilberdyke were forced back and only some excellent goalkeeping and some wayward finishing prevented them from taking all three points back over the Humber Bridge.
