Recap
Kingburn Athletic got off to the perfect start against Swanfield at South Hunsley when they scored inside the first five minutes when Mark Clark was able to head home from a free kick with no defender near him, this came straight after Swanfield had been denied by a fine save from the Kingburn keeper. Swanfield were looking dangerous on the break and only a goal line clearance prevented an equaliser, but it wasn`t long before the visitors were level when Dom Riley raced onto a through ball to finish well, this coming immediately after the home side had missed a great chance to make it 2-0. Swanfield went in front seven minutes from half time when Pete Wilson scored with a fine shot but the goal of the game came two minutes from the break when Dean Wilson picked up a loose ball thirty yards out and smashed it into the top corner. The second half saw Kingburn have more of the ball and they were able to maintain pressure on the Swanfield rearguard but they rarely troubled the visitors replacement keeper and whilst Swanfield still looked dangerous on the break they too rarely threatened. In the last couple of minutes Kingburn scored from a header by Danny Wilkins after they were awarded an indirect free kick inside the six yard box to make the final score 2-3.
