Recap

A local derby at St Thomas More School saw Drum entertain the newly formed Springhead Highway. The visitors with some neat football started well and put Drum under pressure from the start and only some early saves from the home keeper kept his side in the game. The opening goal for Springhead was somewhat fortunate as it was an own goal but they deserved the lead at that point. More good save from the Drum keeper and some indifferent finishing meant it remained 1-0 at half time. Ten minutes into the second period the visitors doubled their lead when Lee Cooper finished well from outside the box. Springhead continued to dominate the game and they added a third on 70 minutes through Martin Lowthorpe who finished off a good counter attack and five minutes later it was 4-0 after Rich Haldenby took advantage of a defensive error by Drum. To their credit the home side kept going and they got a consolation goal when 50 year old Lee Lowson scored from the penalty spot after receiving his first ever booking in his 29 years with Drum.
