HESSLE RANGERS 3 GIPSYVILLE BOSUN 1
Another local derby took place at St Thomas More as Hessle Rangers faced Gipsyville Bosun. Bosun won 4-3 at the beginning of March and were confident of winning again but Hessle had other ideas. Bosun opened the scoring but the home side were level at half time after Andy Davies netted. In the second half Hessle had the better of the possession and Jonathan Crossland put them ahead and Dave Blount completed the scoring with a greta solo effort.
HESSLE RANGERS 3 AFC WILLERBY C 1
For the second time this season Hessle Rangers visited Wolfreton College and for the second time they came away with the three points after a 3-1 win. Hessle went ahead on twenty minutes after Willerby suffered three injuries and led by this goal at the break. They doubled their lead on the hour and added a third ten minutes from time to confirm the win before Nath Nuttall pulled a goal back for Willerby.
HESSLE RANGERS 3 GIPSYVILLE BOSUN 4
When Hessle Rangers visited Costello to face Gipsyville Bosun the sides produced ten goals between them as Hessle won 7-3, the return game which was moved to Sirius Academy to make sure it went ahead was another goal filled affair as Bosun got their revenge by 4-3. Perry Skelton put Bosun ahead after just five minutes and Danny Hughes added a second with a thirty yard screamer. They led 3-1 at half time after Skelton got his second of the game. In the second half Hessle rallied and made it 3-3 before Steve Hassan got the winner but not before Tony Skelly in the Bosun goal made an outstanding save to prevent Hessle equalising
HESSLE RANGERS 1 MOLESCROFT RANGERS A 4
Also at Wolfreton College Hessle Rangers took on Molescroft Rangers A after their Thomas More pitch was ruled unfit. Unfortunately for Hessle the visitors adapted to the heavy pitch far better and by half time had built an unassailable 4-0 lead after goals from Ben Parker, Adam Leach and a double from Mark Hazel. Hessle did pull a goal back in the second half but that was as good as it got for them
HESSLE RANGERS 8 NORTHERN WANDERERS B 0
On a very heavy pitch at St Thomas More Hessle Rangers took on Northern Wanderers B. The home side took the lead inside the first minute and never looked back as they adapted to the conditions far better than Northern and they ran out 8-0 winners. Andy Walker scored 4 with Mally Osindeinde and Tom Dawes both netting twice as Hessle closed the gap on leaders Drum down to two points.
HESSLE RANGERS 1 AAK S+S B 0
Hessle Rangers entertained AAK S+S B at Thomas More School which was the only grass pitch declared playable today, a major surprise given its record for postponements over the years. The pitch was very heavy and undoubtedly played a huge part in ensuring that the game was a bit of a slog. It was still goal less with just over five minutes of the second half to go when Andy Speed latched onto a Rob Brown assist to score the only goal of the game and deprive AAK of a point after all their efforts.
HESSLE RANGERS 2 DRUM 3
In a game originally scheduled for last week Hessle Rangers welcomed Drum back to their spiritual home at Tommy More. Andy Taylor put Drum ahead from the penalty spot early on and they doubled their lead when Tommy Leach headed home a Craig Haywood cross. It got even better for the visitors when Jamie Willerton finished off a good move to make it 3-0. Hessle reduced the arrears before half time through Dave Blount and they made it 2-3 in the second half via Tom Dawes on his debut, before both sides created and subsequently missed good chances. There were no further goals as Drum managed to hold on for a victory their long term Secretary Dave Nichol would have been proud to have seen from up above.
e on.
HESSLE RANGERS 2 BRIDLINGTON TOWN ROVERS 3
Hessle Rangers entertained Bridlington Town Rovers B at their new base at St Thomas More School looking for a second successive win. It was the visitors who returned home with the three points after an odd goal in five win. It was the proverbial game of two halves as Hessle led 2-0 at half time before the seasiders launched a great comeback scoring three times through Andy Higgins, Tyron Morriss and Jason Coultas. There was last minute drama as the home side were awarded a penalty but Howard Berridge in the Brid goal saved it to keep them ahead.
DRUM 6 MOLESCROFT RANGERS A 5
Drum moved their game against Molescroft Rangers A to Costello after their normal pitch was declared unfit and an eleven goal thriller was the outcome in very difficult conditions. The game topsy turvy from start to finish with both attacks too strong for the respective defences. Drum went into a 2-0 lead but the visitors were soon level before the returning Rob Kamis smashed in a 35 yarder to make it 3-2 at half time. Once more Molescroft came back with a two goal salvo to lead for the first time at 4-3 but Drum were soon back on level terms before scoring twice more, one a great header from Steve Remy. The visitors made it 6-5 late on and were pushing for an equaliser but ran out of time. The other Drum scorers were Kamis and Remy who both added a second goal, Craig Haywood and James Moore. For Molescroft Scott Medlin scored twice along with goals from Gordon Adie, Peter Thompson and Adam Leach.
