SPRINGHEAD  0  BOTANIC FIRE  5

On a glorious afternoon at Harness Park Springhead hosted Botanic Fire in a first ever meeting between the sides. Both sides played some decent approach play but a lack of composure in the last third prevented too much trouble for the respective keepers and it looked as though it was going to be a goal less first half when just before the break Shaun Ransom took advantage of a mix up in the Springhead defence to put Botanic ahead. On the hour Botanic doubled their lead with a good finish from Andy Holmes, it became 3-0 when Joe Tomlinson scored direct from a free kick just outside the box and then 4-0 as Springhead tired with a fine strike from Josh Carter. Ransom finished off the scoring with his  second and a fifth for the visitors who ended the day top of the table.
