BRIDLINGTON ROVERS   2  HORNSEA TOWN  1

A seaside derby took place at Gypsey Road as Bridlington Rovers and Hornsea Town got their Over 50 Division campaigns underway. As always when these two clubs meet it was a competitive affair which just went the way of the home side. Brid opened the scoring on five minutes with Darren Wilkinson taking advantage of a mix up between a defender and the keeper. Mike Smith levelled things up for Hornsea with a low shot from just outside the box to make it 1-1 at the break. The second half was fairly even before Brid broke away to get what turned out to be the winner again from Wilkinson with twenty minutes remaining.
