MOLESCROFT RANGERS A  5 GILBERDYKE PHOENIX  7

Another game which can be described as a game of two halves Molescroft Rangers A and Gilberdyke Phoenix produced a twelve goal epic. In a first half which Gilberdyke contributed to their own downfall they found themselves 4-0 down and their record of never having won on the opening day of the season looked to be maintained after new signing Ryan Nicholls and Neil Lee both scored twice. Whatever was said at half time by the Gilberdyke manager worked as they pulled it back to 4-3 after a hat trick from Dave McMahon which included two penalties. Molescroft added a fifth as Lee completed his hat trick before the visitors stormed back with four unanswered goals from Craig Hodgson, Sam Barker, Matthew Smith and Andy Whitaker to run out 7-5 winners.
