 KINGBURN ATHLETIC  1   BLACKBURN LEISURE A  2

Leaders Kingburn Athletic went into their home game against neighbours Blackburn Leisure A looking to extend their unbeaten start to the season but it did not turn out that way as Blackies won a tight affair by the odd goal in three. The visitors were the better side in the opening exchanges and Craig Cockin put them ahead and they deservedly led 1-0 at half time. Kingburn improved in the second half but a second from Cockin really set them back and it was an uphill fight from then on. They did reduce the arrears through Steve Ratcliffe after they previously hit the bar and they went searching for an equaliser but Blackies held out to send Kingburn to their first defeat of the season.
