SPRINGHEAD HIGHWAY B   3  BRIGG TOWN A  1

Springhead Highway B took on Brigg Town A in a six pointer at Springhead Avenue and it was the home side who got the maximum points after a 3-1 win. In their first home game for a couple of months on a not brilliant pitch Springhead opened the scoring from the penalty spot through Brendan Nixon and before the break they had doubled their lead with a well worked goal finished off by Martin Lowthorpe. The second half saw Brigg raise the tempo and the home keeper Mike Antcliffe had to be at his best to keep them at bay. He was eventually beaten from the penalty spot by Dan Greaves as Brigg made it 2-1.  With around twenty minutes remaining Springhead restored their two goal lead when Paul Graham lashed one home from fully a yard out and a disciplined defensive display enable Springhead to see out the game.
