No fixtures were scheduled this weekend but a number of re-arranged games plus the second Over 50`s Cup semi final are taking place with some being potential title deciders.
PREMIER DIVISION
LORD NELSON V WATERLOO SIR HENRY COOPER PARK, ORCHARD PARK- REFEREE ANDREW MCNAUGHT
There is a vital re-arranged game at Sir Henry Cooper Park as Lord Nelson entertain league leaders and title contenders Waterloo. The home side are only side who have beaten Waterloo in the league this season winning 5-1 at St Mary`s back in October. Waterloo if they win would be six points ahead of nearest rivals Reckitts and with the two sides still to play each other this title race is going to the wire. For Nelson they get a run out before their cup final against Reckitts the following week.
DIVISION TWO
PRESTON UNITED V BOTTESFORD TOWN ADDISON ROAD, PRESTON- REFEREE GED STEAD
Preston United take on Champions Bottesford Town at Addison Road as they catch up on outstanding games. Preston will want to avenge a 9-0 thrashing they received in Lincolnshire earlier in the season. Bottesford who have a cup final a week on Sunday will want to keep their unbeaten record for the season in their last league game.
SWANLAND A V HEDON RANGERS A WEST LEYS ROAD, SWANLAND- REFEREE JOHN SUTTON
Swanland A welcome Hedon Rangers A to West Leys Road for their final game of the season which will see them end the campaign in second place irrespective of the result on Sunday. They won 3-0 at South Holderness and will be favourites to complete the double but Hedon will not make things easy for them.
DIVISION FOUR
GILBERDYKE PHOENIX V BRIGG TOWN NEWPORT VILLAGE HALL, REFEREE ELLIS DOUGLAS
There is a second versus third clash as Gilberdyke Phoenix take on Brigg Town at Newport as their own ground is not available. Gilberdyke who have a realistic chance of doing the league and cup double along with AFC North must win on Sunday to maintain that hope. Brigg are the only side to have beaten Phoenix this season winning 3-2 at the end of January and they will be in the mood to spoil the Phoenix hopes.
DIVISION FIVE
DRUM V HESSLE RANGERS COSTELLO PLAYING FIELDS- REFEREE KEVIN PICK
Drum have a second chance of winning the Division Five title when they take on Hessle Rangers at Costello. After losing last weekend against Gipsyville Bosun 5-2 in a double header they will want to make sure on Sunday. Hessle won 2-1 at AAK S+S B two weeks ago and will want to avenge a 3-2 home defeat at Tommy More last October. If Drum slip up then both Molescroft A and AFC Willerby C can win the league and they just happen to play each other in two weeks time.
DIVISION SIX
EASINGTON UNITED V LITTLE WEIGHTON LOW FARM, BECK STREET, EASINGTON- REFEREE JEFF SMITH
Long time rivals meet again as Easington United host Little Weighton looking to complete the double after having won 6-2 at White Gap Road back in October. Easington beat AFC Willerby D 4-2 last time out whilst the visitors were well beaten 9-3 by Priory just last Sunday. There are always plenty of goals when these two sides meet and I am sure Sunday will follow that trend.
OVER 50`S CUP SEMI FINAL
BRIGG TOWN V BRIDLINGTON TOWN ROVERS EC SURFACING STADIUM, WRAWBY ROAD, BRIGG- REFEREE STEVEN BALDWIN
The second Over 50s Divisional Cup semi final takes place on Sunday with current holders Brigg Town entertaining Bridlington Town Rovers at the EC Surfacing Stadium. Brigg have yet to lose an Over 50s cup tie having won it in each of the two years it has been in existence. They will be huge favourites to face Lincolnshire rivals Louth in the following weeks final against a Brid side who have been competitive in every game this season but have lost them all.
OVER 50`S DIVISION WEST
BLACKBURN LEISURE V RECKITTS SKILLINGS LANE, BROUGH- REFEREE PAUL WARREN
Blackburn Leisure and Reckitts meet at Brough a few weeks after a playing out that rarest of Veterans League score lines a 0-0 draw. I am certain we will get goals this time round given the strike power both sides possess but it will be a good open game whatever the final score.
