The second game followed a similar pattern as the first with Swanland taking advantage of defensive frailties by Preston. Swanland again opened the scoring but this time they were able to add a second from the penalty spot after some poor decision making by a defender. In the second half Preston were awarded a penalty of their own but they contrived to miss it, before halving the arrears through Mike Wardell, they then went on to hit the woodwork and then having a shot cleared off the line and then in the last minute the Swanland keeper produced a superb save to deny Preston grabbing a point and more importantly making sure that his side ended the day top of the table, five points clear of Northern Wanderers who have three games in hand with the two sides still to meet before the end of the season.
