Recap

Appleby Frodingham opened their Division Two campaign with a hard earned win over Waterloo at Redburn Park, Scunthorpe. Waterloo led 1-0 at the break after an Andy Lambert  effort and were looking to start with a great victory. The second half saw the home side come out strongly and Chris Fisher equalised with a fine goal, undeterred Waterloo regained the lead when Nick McMahon scored to make it 2-1. From then on it unfortunately went downhill for the visitors as they conceded an own goal for a second equaliser and then with the game looking as though it would end in a 2-2 draw Appleby were awarded a penalty with a couple of minutes to go and Chris Burnham kept his cool and stroked home the winning goal.
