AAK S+S A  1   SOUTH CAVE   1     SOUTH CAVE WIN ON PENALTIES

AAK S+S A and South Cave played two close league games so when they met at Bishop Burton College in the Quarter Final it was expected to be another close game and that is exactly how it turned out. Cave only had a bare eleven and were under the cosh from the start and only a series of fine saves from Ben Hicks kept AAK at bay and it was 0-0 at the break. Early in the second half the home side took the lead through Mark Carson  but Cave responded well and were soon back on level terms when Kieran Barmby scored a fine solo goal. Cave had a couple of good chances late on but the AAK keeper produced a couple of good saves and it finished 1-1. The tie was to be decided by way of a penalty shoot out, Hicks saved the first AAK penalty and all the others were scored which saw South Cave progress to the semi finals.
