Recap

Newland travelled over to Hornsea Town in another Cup/League combined fixture and they put in a fine performance before going down to the league leaders. The first half was a tight affair with the deadlock not broken until a minute before half time when Hornsea went ahead through a Lee Carter strike. Ten minutes into the second half Carter scored his and the hosts second goal with a spectacular scissors kick, unfortunately he injured himself in the process. Antony Taylor made the game safe on the hour to make it 3-0 and just before the end the Veterans Leagues leading scorer Ryan Silvestri completed the scoring. Newland competed throughout the game as normal and will be disappointed by the margin of defeat.
