Recap

Goole United hosted Appleby Frodingham in a game brought forward from next week on a poor pitch at West Park, Goole. Appleby going for their seventh successive win went 3-0 up through Ryan Hibbard with two goals and a Paul Sykes penalty looked to be coasting to an easy win. In the second half Goole got better as the conditions worsened and pulled two goals back through Paul Marshall and twenty minutes later via Daz Fell. As they pushed forward looking for an equaliser they left themselves open to counter attacks and from one such raid a couple of minutes from time Appleby got the fourth and clinching goal when Hibbard completed his hat trick. This win means Appleby move up to second place behind Reckitts who they have yet to play this season.
