Recap

Apollo as a result of an in the end comfortable 5-1 home win over Hedon Rangers A at St Mary`s College extended their lead at the top of the table to five points. However things could have been so much different if Hedon had converted some of the many chances they created especially in the first half when they were in control of the game. Unfortunately they turned round at 1-1 after Dave Beecroft scored an equaliser following Paul Palmer opening the scoring from the penalty spot for the home side. Whatever was said at the interval for Apollo obviously worked as they scored four unanswered goals in the second half as Liam Dolan scored straight from the kick off and then Palmer got his second of the game before Allan Hider and then John Pickard made it 5-1 as Hedon were punished for their earlier missed opportunities.
