Recap

Holme Rovers took on Preston United at home looking for a third successive win but they started slowly and soon found themselves 2-0 down after goals for the visitors from Ben Carter and Pete Padley. Holme started to get their game together and dominated the rest of the first half but an inspired display by the Preston keeper kept them out until Spen Hodgson scored from close range. The second half saw Holme create numerous chances but the Preston defence somehow held out through a combination of woeful finishing and more great saves from the Preston number one and the points were on their way to Holderness after a game played in great spirit.
