Recap

Withernsea entertained Molescroft Rangers A in their first ever home game in the Veterans League and the sides produced a nine goal thriller in the rain. Molescroft raced into a three goal lead in inside the first twenty minutes as Marsel Melia netted twice and one from Gordon Aide and they looked to be in complete control. However Withernsea pulled a goal back before half time via Steve Beedham and in the second period a John Dunn hat trick saw Withernsea lead 4-3 ahead and looking good for a first win. After letting a three goal lead slip Molescroft levelled it at 4-4 via a hat trick goal for Melia with ten minutes remaining. For the second week in a row Molescroft suffered last minute heartbreak as a controversially awarded free kick saw Danny Medforth hit it home off the post to make it 5-4.
