NORTH FERRIBY SPORTING  2  GILBERDYKE PHOENIX  6

It was bottom versus top as North Ferriby Sporting entertained Gilberdyke Phoenix at South Hunsley and the result  went with the form book as Phoenix took the points. After a relatively even opening twenty minutes Phoenix opened the scoring through Matthew Smith and five minutes later they were 2-0 up after Dave McMahon leapt like a salmon to head home. Ferriby got a goal back on the stroke of half time via  Glenn Caulfield to make it 1-2. Ferriby started the second half well and created a couple of chances which they were unable to convert. As injuries and a lack of substitutes hit Ferriby as they finished with eight fit players, the visitors took full advantage as they scored four times, three of them by Andy Whitaker and the other by Craig Hodgson. Credit to the home side as they never gave up and grabbed a late second goal through Darren Spruce. Gilberdyke are now four points clear at the top of the table.
