GILBERDYKE PHOENIX   4  BLACKBURN LEISURE B  3

Gilberdyke Phoenix took on Blackburn Leisure B in their first game for a month and as usual is their way they started slowly and fell behind after only two minutes and they were second best for the first half hour and were still behind at the break. The home side started the second half well and Dave McMahon soon had them back on level terms. They then pressed the self destruct button and Blackies took full advantage to score twice in two minutes to go 3-1 up and looking likely winners. However this Phoenix outfit have a never say die outlook and when they were awarded a penalty Liam Bell converted it for 2-3 and ten minutes from time they equalised when Bell got his second and five minutes later the comeback was complete when McMahon grabbed the winner as they maintained their 100% record and cut the gap on leaders Brandesburton to three points with a game in hand.
