GILBERDYKE PHOENIX  2  BRANDESBURTON 0

Gilberdyke Phoenix entertained Brandesburton in the first meeting between the sides this season and a tight game was anticipated and that was what happened. Brandesburton who were without a few regulars including their keeper started well and had a couple of early half chances. As the league leaders started to get their game together they took the lead when Dan Smith played a superb through ball to Andy Whitaker who finished in style and they led by this goal at half time. Midway through another close second half the home side doubled their advantage through Luke Gooding. Brandesburton continued to push forward looking to get back into the game but met a strong response from the Phoenix defence and it ended 2-0.
