NORTHERN WANDERERS A  4  AFC WILLERBY C  4

An entertaining end to end affair in blustery conditions at Winifred Holtby saw Northern Wanderers A and AFC Willerby C share the points and eight goals. The home side scored inside the first minute through Steve Sharpe but remarkably within six minutes they were 2-1 down after goals from James Frederick from twenty yards and Ray Turner from the edge of the box. The second half started with Northern equalising through Aaron Linford and they then went 3-2 ahead after Dave Barley scored. Willerby fought back and with ten minutes remaining they were awarded a penalty which Turner converted for 3-3. Both sides went looking for the winner and it was the visitors who went back in front when Frederick got his second of the game to grab what looked like the goal that would seal the points with just a couple of minutes to go but there was a twist in the tail as Northern got a deserved leveler when Graeme Hoff smashed one home from twenty yards to make it 4-4 with both sides agreeing that a draw was a fair result.
