HORNSEA TOWN  5  AFC NORTH  6

Goals galore at Atwick Road as Hornsea Town hosted AFC North which saw the visitors take the points by the odd goal in eleven. The home side started well and took the lead with a well worked goal, the lead didn`t last long as North equalised when Jack Wheelhouse finished off a good Sean Parker lay off. Hornsea regained the lead but it was all square at the break when Dale Brady struck home a thirty yard free kick. The visitors came out strong at the start of the second half and Wheelhouse scored three times with one of them outstanding when he received the ball 25 yards out and turned and smashed the ball into the top corner. He normally plays in defence but his pace and fitness make him a handful up front. An own goal made it 2-6 and North were cruising until an injury forced a reshuffle which Hornsea took full advantage of and they scored three times to make it 5-6 and a nervy last few minutes for the away side but they held out for the win which ended a series of heavy defeats for North as they started the New Year with a first win in months. For Hornsea they still seek that elusive first win of the campaign.
