Recap

SOUTH CAVE  1  BOTTESFORD TOWN  3

South Cave welcomed Bottesford Town to South Hunsley with the visitors looking to extend their record of winning every game since joining the Veterans League last season. A great game ensued and only an outstanding save by the Bottesford keeper prevented the home side taking the lead. It was the visitors who broke the deadlock when Dan Hagan chipped the keeper and a few minutes later they scored again with a bullet header from Greg Dent to put Bottesford 2-0 up. A brilliant goal from Kieran Barmby when he chipped the keeper on the volley and he was denied from adding a second when another volley hit the post to leave the half time score 1-2. The second half saw both sides play some excellent football and only good goalkeeping kept the score the same until three minutes from time when the visitors made certain of the points when they counter attacked and Dent made it 3-1. Both sides said it was a great game played in brilliant spirit.
