PRESTON UNITED  2   BRIGG TOWN  8

In the only game to go ahead today Preston United welcomed Brigg Town to South Holderness College for their Over 50`s clash which had been moved to the 4g pitch to ensure the game went ahead. Brigg took the lead after only five minutes through Stewart Gourlay but the home side responded well and within five minutes they had equalized via Mark Readymarcher and they were on top at this stage. However two penalties were awarded to Brigg in quick succession and Martin Cox, who had to play in goal after their keeper failed to show, took them and scored with both to put Brigg 3-1 ahead. Things got worse for Preston as they conceded an own goal late in the half and they went into half time 4-1 down. Preston started the second period on top and they pulled a goal back through an own goal of their own to give them some hope but Brigg soon re-established their hold on the game and added four further goals from Pete Neal 2, Shaun Roper and Simon Munday to give a final score of 8-2 which sees Brigg move into second place behind leaders Swanland.
