GILBERDYKE PHOENIX  5   AAK S+S B  3

In a tight first half between Gilberdyke Phoenix and AAK S+S B there was only a single goal separating the sides at half time which was scored from the penalty spot by Dave McMahon which gave the home side the lead. The second half was much more open as seven goals were scored. The visitors struck first to level things up but Phoenix scored twice in quick succession to lead 3-1 after goals from Phil Escorcio and Dave Stevens. The home side appeared to relax thinking it was game over only for AAK to halve the arrears before Stevens got his second to re-establish the two goal cushion. Once more AAK responded and they made it 4-3 with a few minutes left on the clock. A second from Escorcio finally settled the game in favour of the home side after a thoroughly entertaining encounter.
