BRIGG TOWN B  2   GILBERDYKE PHOENIX  3

In a game moved to Hibalstow to ensure it went ahead Brigg Town B in third place in the table took on bottom of the table Gilberdyke Phoenix. The visitors who are normally slow starters to a game came out of the blocks in a decent tempo which seemed to unsettle the home side. Phoenix went in front after a neat chip by Dave Stevens which beat the Town keeper and they went two goals up courtesy of an own goal and they led 2-0 at half time. Halfway through the second half Brigg reduced the arrears through Gav Chapman and it was game on. Phoenix restored their two goal lead when Stevens repeated his first half finish with another expertly chipped finish but when Chapman got his second of the game with fifteen minutes remaining it led to a resolute effort from the Phoenix rearguard as for once they held firm for their first win of the season.
