NORTHERN WANDERERS  2  PRESTON UNITED  3

Old rivals Northern Wanderers and Preston United met at Kingswood Academy in what was first game at their new home ground this season. Preston started the better of the two sides and deservedly went 2-0 up after twenty five minutes. Northern came back into the game and by midway through the second half they had fought back to level at 2-2 after two goals from Chris Jopling. The home side had several good chances to take the lead but poor finishing prevented them from doing so and the paid the price for those misses as Preston broke away late on to regain the lead against the run of play to repeat their smash and grab effort in their title decider last season in Division Five. Preston scorers were Gary Atkinson with 2 and Darryl Thompson.
