Spartans returned to winning ways when they beat Little Weighton 3-1 at Hull University and in doing so they move up to fourth in the table. Spartans started well but it was the visitors who opened the scoring through Steve Dale who rocketed home a left foot shot. Dave Aitchison brought Spartans level with a fine solo goal which culminated in a 20 yard curler into the net. Not to be outdone Paul Fairbank hit a 25 yarder which not only gave Spartans the lead but this was his first goal in two years.   On a muddy pitch both sides had chances in the second half to score but it wasn`t until the final minute that Spartans made the win certain when Paul Bolton beat the offside trap to round the keeper and score after a fine Aitchison through ball.
