Recap

For the second week in a row Newland won a game 5-3 at St Mary`s College as they maintained their position as the great entertainers of the Veterans League as their six games so far this season have produced no less than 58 goals. Newland took an early lead through Matthew Howard, and they soon doubled their advantage when Dan Richardson headed home a pin point cross. Leading scorer Luke Hanson then got in on the action scoring twice to put Newland 4-0 ahead, just before half time Driffield managed to pull a goal back. In the second half the visitors came more into the game and made the game very interesting as they scored twice to make it 4-3. Hanson calmed Newland nerves with his third of the afternoon as they eventually saw out the game. Driffield scorers were Jamie Ellis, Andy Hornsey and Dan Thompson.
