Recap

In a match switched to North Frodingham as the Hutton Cranswick ground was unavailable Driffield EI B entertained Newland.  The visitors opened the scoring in the first half after some neat play saw Matthew Howard cross for Simon Downs to bring it under control and slot it past the home sides keeper. Driffield had plenty of the ball and they did cause the Newland defence some problems but Newland led by this goal at half time. The heat seemed to get to the players in the second half and the play became disjointed before Newland  doubled their lead and again Howard was the player who set up the goal for Dan Richardson to strike a fine shot from the edge of the box into the top corner for a fine goal. Driffield responded well and were unlucky when they struck the frame of the goal twice late on but Newland kept a clean sheet and in doing so recorded their first win of the season.
