BRIDLINGTON TOWN  2  SPARTANS  4

After losing any chance of winning the Division Six title last Sunday Bridlington Town looked to make progress in the cup when they entertained Spartans at Queensgate. The visitors had beaten Brid Town 5-1 just a few weeks ago and they did so again today as they ran out 4 -2 winners. Spartans started the better of the two sides and opened the scoring early on through leading scorer Matt Tuton and they soon added a second via Mike Waller . Brid responded well and reduced the arrears but another two goal salvo before half time saw Spartans lead 4-1 after Dave Aitchison and a second from Tuton. The second half was a much cagier affair and only one more goal was scored as Brid got their second of the game but Spartans made it through to the semi finals.   Scorers for the home side were Jay Wallace and Tony Emmerson
