Recap

Games between Newland and Driffield EI B are usually close affairs and the game today at Hull University followed that trend as it finished honours even after a 1-1 draw. An even first half saw the visitors take the lead through an own goal after disastrous defending by Newland and it was 0-1 at half time. Newland enjoyed more possession in the second half and they got the equaliser after a good move which saw Tom Vulliamy put a good pass into John Longthorn who used his strength to gain a yard on a defender before firing a rocket shot into the roof of the net from 18 yards. Both sides went looking for the winner and whilst there were no more goals, special mention for the Driffield keeper who made some fine saves to preserve a point for his side.
