BRIDLINGTON TOWN ROVERS A  5   SOUTH CAVE  3

The top two met at Gypsey Road as Bridlington Town Rovers A entertained South Cave in what was expected to be a good open game and that is exactly how it turned out. The home side started well and went ahead after just five minutes as they stifled Cave`s play and they went further ahead on twenty five minute. The visitors however responded well and by half time they were back on level terms courtesy of two Chis Hunt goals, the first a 25 yard free kick. The second half started similar to the first with Brid scoring two minutes into the resumption although Cave felt they were hard done by in an offside decision. Brid increased their lead on fifty five minutes after a defensive mix up by Cave. Five minutes from time Cave made it 4-3 as Hunt completed his hat trick and hope of escaping with a point but Brid immediately made it 5-3 to secure the points.  Their goals coming from Billy Tyler 2, Joe Baker, Lyle Bogle and Stevie Mellonby. Brid now lead Division 3 by five points from today`s opponents.
