AAK S+S A   1  SOUTH CAVE  2

AAK S+S A hosted South Cave at Bishop Burton College looking to maintain their 100% start to the season but it was the visitors who went away with the points after a 2-1 win. Two evenly matched sides went into half time with the score sheet blank despite good attacking play by both sides. Ten minutes into the second half Cave went ahead after Rob Mooney placed a shot over the AAK keeper. Five minutes later it was 2-0 when Mooney put Pete Fewings away and he finished well. As AAK pushed men forward to get back into the game Cave had chances to extend their lead but were unable to do so. Ten minutes from time Dean Gwatkin scored for AAK and despite late pressure the visitors held out in a game which was described as great advert for Veterans football.
